JGS1, JGS2 and JGS3 are different types of quartz glass materials, which have their own characteristics and uses:

1.JGS1 (far-ultraviolet optical quartz glass):

  -Spectral wavelength range: 0.185-2.5 microns.

  -Features: JGS1 is mainly used in the ultraviolet, visible and near infrared wavelength ranges. This material contains no air bubbles or impurities and has excellent UV transmission properties, especially in the short-wave UV region, where the transmission is far superior to other types of glass. UV transmission at 185nm can be 90% or higher.

  -Application: It can be used as a substitute for Suprasil 1 and Corning 7980.

2.JGS2 (UV Optical Quartz Glass):

  -Spectral wavelength range: 0.220-2.5 microns.

  -Characteristics: JGS2 is usually used for telescope lens substrates or blanks and contains some small bubbles. It contains dozens of PPM metal impurities with streaks and granular structure.

  -Application: It can be used as a substitute for Homosil 1, 2 & 3.

3.JGS3 (Infrared Optical Quartz Glass):

  -Spectral wavelength range: 0.260-3.5 microns.

  -Characteristics: JGS3 has good transmittance to infrared rays, but contains more bubbles, which limits its wide use. It has almost no OH groups and is suitable for the infrared spectral region.

  -Applications: Can be used as a replacement for Suprasil 300.

These quartz glass materials are commonly used in optical instruments such as lasers, light source windows, spectrophotometers and other devices because of their extremely high transmittance in specific spectral ranges. For specific application scenarios, it is important to choose the right material. For example, if good transmittance in the ultraviolet region is required, JGS1 would be chosen, while if the application is more in the infrared region, JGS3 would be chosen.
