Thermocouple protection quartz rod
Thermocouple protection quartz rod, commonly known as thermocouple protection tube, is a device used to protect thermocouples. Its main function is to protect the thermoelectric electrode of the thermocouple from external factors such as mechanical damage, corrosion, flame and gas erosion, and radiation, thereby extending the service life of the thermoelectric electrode. In addition, the protective tube also serves to fix and support the thermocouple.
For the materials used in thermocouple protection tubes, there are generally the following requirements:
Sufficient mechanical strength, bending resistance, compression resistance, and resistance to damage;
Good thermal conductivity and small heat capacity to reduce inertia during thermocouple temperature measurement and maintain a small temperature difference between the inside and outside;
Good airtightness to prevent the tested medium from penetrating into the tube and corroding or damaging the thermoelectric electrode;
Stable physical and chemical properties, especially under high temperature conditions, will not react with the measured medium and produce gases harmful to the thermoelectric electrode during long-term use;
When measuring corrosive media such as acid, alkali, salt, etc., the material selected for the protective tube should be able to withstand the corrosion of harmful media;
Choose materials with lower prices as much as possible while meeting usage requirements.
Thermocouple protection tubes can be divided into four categories based on their materials: metal protection tubes, non-metal protection tubes, metal ceramic protection tubes, and composite protection tubes. Among them, metal protective tubes and non-metal protective tubes are two commonly used types. Metal protective tubes such as 1Cr18Ni9Ti and 304 stainless steel, while non-metallic protective tubes may include materials such as ceramics and quartz.
