The manufacturing process of quartz glass crucible includes the use of high purity quartz sand through mold shaping and high temperature production by electric arc method. It can be used up to 1450 degrees Fahrenheit and is available in two types, transparent and opaque. Initially, quartz glass crucibles were fully transparent, but this construction was eliminated because it tended to cause uneven heat transfer and increased the difficulty of growing crystal rods. At present, semi-transparent quartz glass crucible is the basic material for pulling large diameter single crystal silicon and developing large-scale integrated circuits.

In terms of production process, the production molding of quartz glass crucible generally adopts two methods of grouting or coagulation. The slurrying method is a traditional production process, which is more common, while the coagulation method is an emerging process, which is more difficult to master, but has advantages in large-scale production.
