-Wide spectral transmittance: Quartz glass has excellent transmittance within a very wide spectrum from far ultraviolet (160nm) to far infrared (5 μ m). For example, far ultraviolet optical quartz glass (JGS1) has no absorption band in the 185-250nm wavelength range, ultraviolet optical quartz glass (JGS2) has no absorption band in the 200-250nm wavelength range, and infrared optical quartz glass (JGS3) is transparent in the visible and infrared spectral ranges. This wide spectral transparency enables it to meet the needs of various optical applications, whether it is ultraviolet spectroscopy, visible spectroscopy, or infrared spectroscopy.

-High transmittance and low absorption: Quartz glass has a transmittance of over 85% in the visible light region, and its spectral transmittance is better than other glass materials in the ultraviolet spectrum, especially in the short wave ultraviolet region. Its low absorption rate can reduce light energy loss and ensure the efficient operation of the optical system.

-Optical uniformity and stability: The optical properties of quartz glass, such as bubbles, stripes, uniformity, birefringence, etc., are comparable to those of general optical glass. Quartz glass can maintain stable optical performance in various harsh environments, unaffected by factors such as temperature and humidity.

Outstanding physical and chemical properties

-High heat resistance: The softening point temperature of quartz glass is about 1730 ℃, which can be used for a long time at 1100 ℃, and the maximum temperature for short-term use can reach 1450 ℃. This high heat resistance enables it to maintain structural integrity and optical performance in high-temperature environments, making it suitable for high-temperature optical systems.

-Low thermal expansion coefficient: The thermal expansion coefficient of quartz glass is extremely small, only 1/10~1/20 of that of ordinary glass. This means that the size change of quartz glass is minimal when the temperature changes, which can effectively reduce the influence of thermal stress on the optical system and maintain the accuracy of optical components.

-Excellent chemical stability: Quartz glass hardly reacts with other acidic substances except hydrofluoric acid, and its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel. This chemical stability enables it to work stably for a long time in harsh chemical environments such as strong acids and bases.
