High purity: mainly composed of silica, with a purity of 99.95%.
Optical characteristics:
High transmittance: The transmittance in the visible light region is as high as 90% or more, and it also has a high transmittance to ultraviolet and infrared light.
Low dispersion: The dispersion coefficient is low, only about one-third that of ordinary optical glass, reducing the chromatic aberration during imaging.
High refractive index: The refractive index is about 1.45, suitable for manufacturing lenses with high magnification and high numerical aperture.
Mechanical properties:
High strength: Compressive strength is usually between 490 and 1.96 quadrillion Pa, tensile strength is 50 to 70 trillion Pa, flexural strength is 66 to 108 trillion Pa.
