Precision instrument protection fused silica glass plate
The fused silica glass plate for precision instrument protection is a special kind of industrial technology glass, which is mainly used in fields requiring high precision and excellent optical performance. This type of glass plate is made by melting high-purity natural quartz (such as crystal and quartz sand) at high temperatures. Its main component is silicon dioxide (SiO2), which has a very small coefficient of linear expansion, only 1/10 to 1/20 of ordinary glass. This enables quartz glass to remain stable even under extreme temperature conditions, with a commonly used temperature range of 1100 to 1200 ℃, and can withstand high temperatures up to 1400 ℃ in the short term.
The microstructure of quartz glass is formed by tightly arranged tetrahedral units of silica, which share oxygen atoms to form a continuous three-dimensional network. Due to its amorphous structure, quartz glass exhibits many unique physical and chemical properties in short-range ordered and long-range disordered states, such as excellent spectral transparency, extremely low thermal expansion coefficient and conductivity, as well as excellent radiation resistance and long lifespan under extreme conditions. These characteristics make quartz glass irreplaceable in the field of precision instrument protection.
Quartz glass is also widely used in laboratory equipment, optical instruments, and thermocouple protection tubes. Its high heat resistance, ultraviolet transmittance, and electrical insulation make it uniquely advantageous in these professional and high-precision applications. Due to its outstanding performance and wide range of applications, quartz glass is hailed as the "king of glass" by experts in the field of new materials. It is an important foundational material for emerging industries such as modern information, optics, photovoltaics, semiconductors, and defense fields such as aerospace.
