In addition to hydrofluoric acid, fused silica glass is inert to other acids. Its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel. Especially, it has excellent chemical stability at high temperatures.
Thermal stability: The thermal expansion coefficient of fused silica is very small, and it can withstand severe temperature changes. For example, heating it to 1100 ℃ and placing it in room temperature water will not cause it to break.
Transmittance: Quartz glass has good transmittance throughout the entire spectral band from ultraviolet to infrared. Especially in the ultraviolet spectral band, the maximum transmittance exceeds 85%, and the transmittance of visible light is higher than 95%.
