Q1: What are the core advantages of spiral quartz tubes compared to straight tubes or metal spiral tubes?  

A: ① Transparent and visible: can directly observe the fluid state, bubbles or sediment inside the tube; ② Corrosion resistance: except for hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid, it does not react with other acids and bases; ③ Purity: The total amount of metal impurities is less than 20ppm, and there is no leaching of metal ions; ④ Temperature resistance: far exceeding that of organic glass or metal tubes, and with extremely low thermal expansion.

Q2: Can the spiral tube withstand pressure? Will it deform at high temperatures?  

A: When the wall thickness is 2-4mm, it is recommended to use it under normal pressure or slightly positive pressure (<0.3MPa). We use precision annealing technology to eliminate thermal stress, and the pitch change rate is less than 0.5% under long-term operation at 1000 ℃, without collapse or distortion.

Q3: What is the minimum spiral diameter that can be made? Is there a limit to the number of laps?  

A: The minimum inner diameter of the spiral can reach 30mm, and the maximum is 300mm; the number of turns can be achieved from 1 to 30, and the long tube can be segmented and welded after spiral connection.

Q4: Can we customize double helix or variable pitch structures?  

A: Okay. Complex configurations such as double helix (coaxial inner and outer tubes or parallel dual channels), conical helix, and variable pitch in the middle are supported, and only process sketches or target heat transfer/mixing parameters need to be provided.

1. Strengthen heat transfer and mixing

The secondary circulation (Dean vortex) driven by centrifugal force is generated when the fluid travels along the spiral channel, effectively destroying the thermal boundary layer. Experimental data shows that under the same Reynolds number, the convective heat transfer coefficient of a helical tube is 2.8-4.2 times that of a straight tube, making it particularly suitable for high viscosity fluids or low flow rate conditions.

2. Compact space design

A spiral tube with an outer diameter of 200mm and 12 turns can have an effective flow channel length of 6-8 meters, while occupying a height of only about 250mm. It can be easily placed in a small tube furnace, oil bath or constant temperature box.

Case 1: Optimization of Photochemical Reactor in a Biomedical CDMO Enterprise

-Problem: Using a straight tube photoreactor for vitamin D3 photoisomerization reaction results in a short light path, non adjustable residence time, a conversion rate of only 62%, and high by-products.  

-Solution: We customize a Φ 10 × 12mm outer diameter, 15 spiral turns, 18mm pitch, UV high transparency quartz spiral tube, wound around the periphery of a 254nm low-pressure mercury lamp, and the material circulates through the spiral channel.

Case 2: Thermal Engineering Laboratory of a certain university - Supercritical Water Oxidation Experimental Device

-Problem: During the absorption of HCl gas by ultrapure water, the gas-liquid contact in the straight tube absorption tower is insufficient, resulting in a high HCl concentration of 800ppm in the outlet tail gas, which is wasteful and environmentally unfriendly.
