Transparent quartz glass is made by high-temperature melting natural colorless and transparent crystals. Its chemical composition is silicon dioxide, with high purity and a silicon dioxide content of over 99.95%.
Main features:
-Thermal performance: The coefficient of linear expansion is very small (5.5 × 10 ⁻⁷), only one-fifth of that of extra hard glass. It is resistant to rapid cooling and heating, with a softening temperature of 1650 ℃. It can be used at 1100 ℃ and can be used up to 1400 ℃ in a short time.
-Chemical properties: The acid resistance is very good. Except for hydrofluoric acid and phosphoric acid, any concentration of organic and inorganic acids rarely interact with quartz glass, even at high temperatures. In addition, it also has good radiation resistance.
-Optical performance: It has excellent transparency and can transmit ultraviolet light, making it one of the best UV transparent materials. It can also transmit visible light and near-infrared spectra.
-Mechanical properties: The compressive strength of transparent quartz glass is generally 490-1960 MPa, the tensile strength is 50-70 MPa, the bending strength is 66-108 MPa, the torsional strength is about 30 MPa, and the Mohs hardness is between 5.5-6.5.
-Electrical performance: It is an excellent electrical insulation material with a resistivity of up to 1.8 × 10 ⊃1;⁹Ω∙ cm at room temperature, high breakdown voltage, and low dielectric loss.
