JGS1, JGS2, and JGS3 transparent fused silica plates with a diameter of 10-800mm are three different types of optical quartz glasses, each of which has unique characteristics and application scope.
JGS1 (Far Ultraviolet Optical Quartz Glass):
Spectral range: 185-2.5 μm.
Features: Made of high-purity optical quartz glass melted with hydrogen and oxygen, containing a large number of hydroxyl groups (2000 ppm), it has excellent transmission performance in the short-wave ultraviolet region, and its transmittance can reach more than 90% at 185nm. Strong absorption peak at 2730nm, no particle structure.
JGS2 (UV Optical Quartz Glass):
Spectral range: 220-2.5 μm.
Features: Quartz glass produced from quartz raw materials and hydroxyl flame contains tens of ppm of metal impurities. There is an absorption peak at 2730nm (hydroxyl content 100-200ppm), with stripes and particle structure.
JGS3 (infrared optical quartz glass):
Spectral range: 260-3.5 μm.
Features: It is produced by quartz raw materials and vacuum electrofusion method, containing tens of ppm of metal impurities. It has small bubbles, particle structure and stripes, almost no OH, and has high infrared transmission performance, with a transmittance of more than 85%.
The common characteristics of these quartz glasses are high purity, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and good light transmission performance in the entire spectral band of ultraviolet to infrared rays. The visible light transmittance is above 93%, especially in the ultraviolet spectrum region, the large transmittance can reach more than 80. In addition, the resistance value of quartz glass is equivalent to 10,000 times that of ordinary glass, making it an excellent electrical insulating material.
