The characteristic of this glass plate is its very low hydroxyl (OH -) content, typically less than 5ppm, which minimizes absorption in the infrared region. In optical applications, the absorption, transmission, scattering, and optical uniformity of quartz glass are important indicators. Especially in high-purity fused silica glass, the most obvious absorption peaks appear at 945nm, 1245nm, 1385nm, 2210nm, 2700nm-2800nm. These absorption peaks are mainly caused by the presence of OH - in the silica material structure.
The performance of infrared absorption fused silica glass plate at elevated temperature is also an important consideration. For example, under laser irradiation, the temperature rise of fused silica glass is related to the absorption value of the material and the size of the light spot. The simulation experiment shows that the temperature increment of fused silica glass is linear with the absorption value under a certain spot size and laser power.
