Curved and bent flat quartz plate
The curved and arc-shaped flat quartz plate is a special type of quartz component made by specially heating and bending the flat quartz material. It combines the high-temperature resistance, high light transmittance, and corrosion resistance of quartz with customized arc-shaped structure. This product is specifically designed for scenarios in optics, semiconductors, medical and laboratory equipment that have specific requirements for light path guidance, fluid control, or space adaptation. It can be customized with various curvatures such as R-angle, wave-like, and U-shaped according to the drawings provided by the customers.

FAQ
Q1: How high can the arc-shaped and curved flat quartz plate withstand?
A: Depending on the grade of the quartz raw material, ordinary products can withstand a long-term temperature of 1100°C, and high-purity quartz products can operate stably at 1200°C. The strength of the arc-shaped area after heat bending remains consistent with the base material, and there will be no softening or deformation.
Q2: What is the minimum achievable bending radius?
A: For plates thinner than 3mm, the minimum inner radius of bending can reach 15mm; when the thickness is 5-8mm, it is recommended that the radius be no less than 30mm. Specific details need to be confirmed through engineering for your working environment's temperature gradient and mechanical load requirements.
Q3: Can multiple different directions of bending be achieved on the same quartz plate?
A: Yes. We have produced S-shaped double-arc and three-dimensional torsional arc plates for many customers, but note that the addition of multiple arc radii will increase the difficulty of processing tolerance control. It is recommended to leave at least a 20mm straight section transition area between the single arc segments.
Q4: What level of surface finish can be achieved?
A: The regular grinding surface has Ra ≤ 0.8μm, and the precise polishing can reach Ra ≤ 0.2μm. For optical transmission purposes, we can provide laser-level polishing, with a light transmission rate of ≥ 92% (380-1100nm wavelength band).

Which core problems can this product solve for you?
If you are looking for solutions to the following issues - ordinary glass arc plates are prone to cracking in high-temperature environments, plastic arc components are not resistant to chemical corrosion, metal bent plates block the optical path, or there are no quartz arc plates available in the market that meet the specific curvature and size matching requirements - then this product can directly meet your needs. It can extend the inherent advantages of quartz to non-planar structures, ensuring that your equipment still achieves quartz-level purity and thermal stability in areas with limited space or flow path turns.

Structural and Technical Advantages
I. Material System
- High-purity quartz substrate: SiO₂ content ≥ 99.99%, hydroxyl content can be controlled within ≤ 150 ppm
II. Molding Process
Adopts segmented gradient heat bending technology:
1. Preheating stage: Quartz plate is heated on a precision mold at a rate of 5-10°C/min to near the softening point
2. Molding stage: Numerical control servo pressure rods apply force according to the preset trajectory, maintaining the deviation of the arc shape contour within ±0.3mm/m
3. Tempering stage: Reduced to room temperature at a rate of ≤ 2°C/min to eliminate internal stress and ensure no birefringence stripes in the arc area
III. Customizable Specification Range
Planar dimensions: Maximum 600×400mm
Thickness range: 1.5mm – 12mm
Arc angle: 0° – 180° (circular arc)
Center height difference: ≤ 150mm / ≤ 200mm
Edge straightness: ±0.2mm/300mm
IV. Surface Treatment Options
- Flame polishing: Highest gloss, suitable for arc plates with optical observation windows
- Chemical mechanical polishing: Suitable for installation flanges with sealing rings
- Sandblasting/ matte finish: For uniform light plates or scenarios with anti-reflection stray light prevention

Specific application challenges that can be addressed
1. Fluid diversion in semiconductor cleaning equipment: The inner walls of the trough-type cleaning machine require curved guide plates to evenly direct the solution to the wafer surface. The traditional planar quartz plate combined with sealing strips has死角 for liquid accumulation. Our curved quartz plate can directly serve as the bottom plate of the flow channel, with a U-shaped arc of 80mm radius completely eliminating the turbulent zone. The cleaning uniformity is increased from 92% to over 98%.
2. Light path shaping for UV curing light source: A UV-LED curing module developer needs to convert the linear light source into an arc-shaped light field for irradiating cylindrical products. Using a 150mm×40mm curved plate (curvature radius of 75mm, transmittance ≥ 90% @ 365nm), instead of the original three reflector combinations, the light efficiency is increased by 22%, and the overall thickness is reduced by 35mm.
3. Field expansion of the observation window in high-temperature reactors: A continuous-flow micro-reactor needs to observe the internal crystallization process in the area surrounded by the heating band. The customer customized a L-shaped quartz arc plate with a 90° bend, with one side serving as the top sealing observation port and the other side inclinedly extending into the furnace interior. This design enables the operator to monitor the crystal morphology without disassembling the heating jacket, allowing for real-time monitoring and extending the reactor cleaning and maintenance cycle by three times.

Why choose us
- Small batch customization without mold fee: Minimum order quantity is 1 piece. Utilize a reconfigurable mold system, eliminating the need to bear the high cost of expensive hard molds.
- Verify the angular tolerance: Each arc plate comes with a three-coordinate measurement report. The key contour points are compared with the drawing for overlay.
- Delivery commitment: For regular orders with a thickness of ≤ 6mm and a number of arcs ≤ 2.
- Support for failure analysis application: If your system experiences quartz arc plate cracking or light transmission attenuation, you can return the sample for analysis of hydroxyl content, stress distribution, and crystallization layer, and receive improvement suggestions.

Anonymous Customer Application Case
Case 1 (Medical Device Optical Module)
An European endoscope light source company needed a hyperbolic quartz light guide plate to redirect the LED light by 70° from the horizontal direction and simultaneously expand it into an elliptical light spot. Many suppliers in the market refused to produce samples, considering that it was difficult to meet the tolerance requirements of both an angle deviation of ±0.5° and an evenness of light spot energy > 85%. We used 3D printing to assist in positioning the mold and combined it with manual flame polishing for shaping. After three samples, the angle deviation was ±0.3° and the uniformity of the light spot was 88.7%. This component has now entered the mass production verification stage, and the estimated annual purchase volume is 500 pieces.
Case 2 (Laboratory Reaction Device)
A chemical engineering research group at a university was building a photochemical reaction platform and needed to insert an optical fiber into a spherical container filled with corrosive gas. The standard light transmission window could not meet the requirements for the direction of the light. We made a quartz light guide arc plate with a spiral-shaped bend (thickness of only 1.2mm, bend angle of 135°), which was directly sintered onto a specially made flange. The device was ultimately successfully used in a photocatalysis experiment under chlorine gas atmosphere, without any leakage or light window etching phenomena.
